Rotary #1, April 1999

After being restored to operational status in 1996, Rotary #1 is here being pushed towards Slippery Rock on the Highline by two GE locomotives for railfans who follow in another train.
The passenger train following Rotary #1 passes over Glacier Station bridge with the Sawtooth Mountains overhead.

Here is Rotary #1 heading deeper into British Columbia working hard.

Ready for a second day's run for photo opportunities, Rotary #1 is in Skagway ready to be pushed well into Canada for viewing from the Klondike Highway.
A summer view of Rotary #3. Along with other scrap locomotives, Rotary #3 was buried as rip rap to prevent erosion of railbed by the Skagway River. "3" was partially exposed during the restoration of Rotary #1 to obtain some parts needed to complete the restoration and can still be seen by passengers about four miles from Skagway.
